Agricultural input use (including pesticides, despite the horrific data from some crops) is generally low in many countries in Africa. So governments want to see increased use of inputs, including, by implication, increased use of pesticides. Somehow we need to influence policy so that lower risk pesticides (biopesticides) end up at lower price in the market. Then farmers will choose biopesticides.
