Extension Officers are not very welcoming to new farmers in their areas. Same farmers who are following MEC advice of finding the market first. We would appreciate if that attitude can change. New Farmers needs to be prioritized too. You will not get support but find same extension officer in the area but cannot make time to give you the support you need as the new farmer.

Reason is there is a lot of smallholder farmers who travel long distances to purchase feed for their animals and spend lots of money on transportation and loose income when they sell their animals. I am currently farming in Makhuzeni in the Impendle district. I already purchased a 3 phase hammermill as a start.

we are happy with you presentation and with your video you show to us. my question is what makes the department support elders much more than the youth why they always ask qualification related to agriculture in youth. if the department will note only 90% present in the presentation is the youth meaning youth have much technology than elders. IN my view the co ops which led by elders I think will not drive the train of cease the poverty. for example elders agricultural practise is not circular meaning they do not have by-product which is much required also in production.

We are also planning on Agro Processing, package and distribute our vegetables, create not just seasonal jobs but full time as vegetables in our area can be planted all year around.
