This farmers kept their livestock in an asbestos area i.e Bewaarskloof and they are doing very well so they have managed to do two boreholes and two grabs and they need our support I.e. fence then the area is not healthy for our lives cause is a risk to go there. We are in the Vibrant Potato, Tomato & Butternut producing area of Limpopo (Blouberg Municipality)We are at the Verge of reaching Commercial farming Level.*We kindly need a shared Packaging Facility as well as the Shared Potato Machenization since they are too expensive for us*Also give working resources to our Economists, Extension and Advisory services, so that they can be able to reach Farmers.

Please also enhance the governance over the leases. The previous cycle was prompting the farmers to apply for leases without typical physical inspection which made it difficult for some to even respond. Not knowing the current use, potential and capability of the leased farm. In my view it was rushed and most applied just based on the size.

Giving inputs on the wrong time to farmers for the sake of meeting targets by officials is not appropriate. There might be challenges of bureaucracy in approval process, that might be caused by either business processes or incompetence. It is best to use automation business processes to minimize element of corruption. The automation will address issue of avoiding same farmers receiving inputs or assistance from the government every year while other farmers are not getting same opportunities, etc.

Can we also note that we are running a Business in Farming therefore we also need to do follow ups when we have raised our challenges with the Dept because this is a collaborative process that we are in.

Morning my name is Basani Tlakula for Ribola Plastics and Nursery in Elim Limpopo-an aquaponics farmer and trainer in plant production in aquaponics/hydroponics. We have been trying to partner with the Department in this regard for some time now. Many officials have come to our facility in Elim to show our system but nothing further.

From FABCo we highly appreciate this Platform created by the Minister.

As Ephraim Mogale farmers we are experiencing the following issues: 1. Lack of resources to debush our lands 2. Difficulties around accessing Water Use Licences 3. Inability of our Extension Officers to travel because of budget cuts (They are not able to travel and share the scarce available government vehicles) 4. Highly inflated PESI prices from the service providers disadvantaging us 5. Inclusion of infrastructure such as fencing, boreholes, tractors etc in the farmer support programs.

We also need to realize that apartheid has taken a new face hence our animals are discriminated upon. That is the apartheid of our day

Perhaps create a platform to send question post this webinar , and you can sort the questions and create a freqeuntly asked questions or even use for further engagements and extension support

we also need intervention on watering implements we cant always get fertilizer seeds and chemical people on the ground needs jojo tanks drips

Incompetence in key positions is an issue because there is lack of appropriate decision making, and that is a risk. Key positions must be given based on qualifications, and officials should be trained now and then to empower them in the area of their work in order to respond to challenges around them.

Issue of roads is very important. We are also struggling with roads in our farm since the heavy rains damaged a lot of roads

The monitoring and evaluation process will be of great assistance for the growth of this industry

I am Bangi Molele of BK Livestock Suppliers Pty based in Gauteng and Limpopo GaMmalebogo. I am greatful to be part of this meeting. There are bridges build in Blouberg, Mogalakwana River next Tolwe which benefit the minority and the river dries up which impact the black farmers in more than 15 villages. Please provide seeds and training in villages. Take soil samples and advise farmers on what they should farm. Drill boreholes for farmers to have access to water. Encourage schools to have agricultural practicals in schools
