AgroInformatics: actionable data for farmers and decision makers

The aim of the event is to present the application and impact of digital tools in the field and how data and technology provide tools to enable policy makers, extension workers, and farmers with digital solutions to real-world challenges. The format of the virtual event will include brief audio / video statements from non-FAO partners and stakeholders using the digital solutions being presented. This will provide on-the-ground examples of how the solutions are contributing to accelerating FAO’s Four Betters and strategic objectives towards improved sustainable agriculture and early warning systems.

Presenting digital solutions in the field of AgroInformatics: Through the presentations of selected speakers for the event will showcase the many dimensions of food and agriculture data and how data can be used to help address shared challenges by identifying new opportunities, as well as strengthen the design of interventions, monitor progress, evaluate impact and deliver services to individual farmers, smallholders, agro-pastoralists and policy makers.

The event will also showcase how providing more accurate, integrated multidimensional data contributes to powering many of FAO’s flagship digital solutions and services.
