Building Smallholder Farmer Resilience through Climate Adaptation (Nov 2)

As UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report notes the accelerating pace of climate change threatens food security everywhere. The recently completed UN Food Systems Summit, the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26), and the Nutrition for Growth Summit, provide multiple opportunities for governments, non-profit, foundations, the private sector and other stakeholders from around the world to commit to improved, sustainable, and equitable agricultural development.

Even so, there are legitimate concerns that smallholder farmers are being left behind. Chief among these concerns is the issue of how to assist smallholder farmers to adapt to the changing environment around them. While there has been much discussion on how technology and innovation can help mitigate environmental and climate impact, additional resources and support must be devoted to helping smallholder farmers who are already suffering from climate-related challenges.

Join the Alliance to End Hunger, IFAD, FAO, and other experts to explore how and where climate adaptation programs are succeeding, and how funding mechanisms can support these lifesaving practices around the world.
